‘Zen’ is the name given to the new base kitchen from Astra launched in April at the Salone Del Mobile 2018.
The word ‘Zen’ means a total state of focus that incorporates a total togetherness of body and mind. The term is shortened from mushin no shin, a Zen expression meaning the mind without mind and is also referred to as the state of “no-mindness”. That is, a mind not fixed or occupied by thought or emotion and thus open to everything.
It is a way of being and state of mind.
This new Astra Kitchen furniture composition has been designed without clearly defined boundaries or limitations. Rather, it can be shaped to taste, or to suit any domestic space.
This concept of openess means that the finishes used in the kitchen can be used in living room furniture, bedroom furniture and other areas in the house.
