Digital technology has been embraced globally, with Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things on our radar. These trends are changing the way we live and work. Already, offices are changing to help us work in healthier, more productive, efficient and competitive environments.

Fresh back from the bi-annual Orgatec exhibition in Cologne, we bring you the latest and best innovations in 2018 from some of the best suppliers worldwide.

With a central theme of culture@work, the Orgatec exhibition is leading the way, showing us core principles for the future office. When it comes to office ideas the best companies exhibit at the bi-annual Orgatec exhibition in Cologne.

At Desmo, we continually work with our suppliers to bring the latest ideas to our clients. We were there not only to support our suppliers but to see the latest innovations from the world’s best. It was eye-opening and reflective of the recent focus on workers wellbeing and the increasing influence of technology in our lifestyle.

Acoustic pods and meeting booths were prominent for those semi private conversations the mobile phone has bestowed on us. Some pods had L-shaped doors and special sliding systems and double skin frameless glass. Glazed partitions over 3500mm high was everywhere with impressive outcomes.

The workforce of the future is global and smart screens are incorporated in desk partitions to allow for easy virtual conferencing. This brings your colleagues physically thousands of miles away, right into your desk space.

The revolution in office furniture is evident with the presence of adjustable height desks across various supplier stands with varying purposes. The desks above allow users the option of lower or higher seating.  Height adjustable desks are used as sit-stand tables.  The desks can be raised later  to keep the users concentration high.

The adjustable height table has varying purposes. There were collaboration, height adjustable and media high tables. They are ideal for day-long meetings or training. You can set the table to standing for morning introductions and then lower for coffee to start discussions.

The reception desk incorporates a lower level surface for disabled guests and visitors.

A wine cooler and glasses is cleverly concealed in a standing desk, to fit in with office furniture – bringing rest/leisure and entertainment into the office space.
