This six storey mixed use development is one of the largest of its kind in Port Harcourt. The development includes shops, a food court, cinema complex, lounge bar and top floor restaurant. Desmo provided the architectural design of the building, majority of the interior design and the entire external layout design. We also co-ordinated the curtain wall design and manufacture with an internationally renowned company. This project is the first of its kind in Port Harcourt.
We were responsible for the supply and delivery to site of Internal and external lights, internal and external tiles and stone, special external plaster paint and internal suspended ceiling tiles. We also supplied and installed the internal doors. The highlight of the doors is at the ground floor with door heights at 2580mm! This was a challenging project with several aspects and interfaces. Bearing in mind the sophistication of the products specified and sourced across the globe and the interfaces involved locally with sometimes less sophisticated methods and products.
Several design, planning and production meetings were required in different parts of the world with the project team including Port Harcourt and Lagos in Nigeria, Treviso, Pordenone, Sacile and Venice in Italy, Accra in Ghana and London UK! Despite all the challenges, the outcome has been a spectacle in Port Harcourt.
Product highlights include: Internal lights including Bubble, Zeta, Dea, Light 345 from Norlight, standard compact fluorescent lights from Le Luci. External lights include Egeo flood lights, Tarzan under water lights for the fountain, Tellux wall washers, Diablo LED bollard lights for the entrances, all from Castaldi. Doors from Mobil3, ceiling tiles by Ditrani, internal and external tiles by Keraben of Spain, stone tiles by Iveco of Italy and finally movement joints by Schluter of Germany! The project is to be completed in phases. The first phase is the basement to 2nd floor and was completed December 2009.
